Esh Property Services has recruited a new starter to help launch their ‘Stay Safe’ campaign aimed at children. The Company’s mascot has been created to help to highlight the dangers of playing on building sites.
On his first day, Dudley the Elephant packed his bag with his safety gear, ready for his guest appearance at Sacriston Junior School in Durham talking to the children. He joined their special assembly to launch ‘Stay Safe’ and the pupils listened to a presentation about the dangers of playing on building sites, health & safety and the importance of site security.
Calendar Competition
School children at Sacriston Junior School were thrilled to find out whose artwork had been chosen to be used on a calendar for Esh Property Services at a special assembly in December. The completed calendars were sent out as Christmas Gifts to clients and suppliers.
Visiting the school, Dudley the Elephant, Esh Property Services company mascot, presented the winning pupils with prizes including their own copy of the calendar. Dudley first visited the school to launch the project in July as Esh Property Services began work in the area for Cestria Community Housing to refurbish over 400 properties.
Heather Newell, Director at Esh Property Services, explained: “We are always very keen to help children understand our work – for lots of different reasons; most importantly from a health and safety point of view. In this scheme we are working in many of these children’s family homes so it helps them to understand what the work is all about.”
Pauline Warren, Headteacher at Sacriston Junior School, continued: “This has been a super project – helpful and fun. The children have learned a lot about not playing on building sites and have thoroughly enjoyed the competition itself… it’s so good for their confidence and self-esteem. I’d like to thank the team at Esh Property Services for their ideas and support; I hope we can continue working together into the future.”
