• Roof coverings replacement
• Electrical rewiring
• New boilers installation
• New kitchens and appliances fitted
• New bathrooms fitted and
• External insulation applied
Some funding for the scheme is being made available through the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) a Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) initiative which aims to improve energy efficiency standards and permanently reduce fuel bills for householders in certain areas across the country.
As a result of the works the thermal capacity of the South Tyneside homes will be increased substantially resulting in a 56% carbon reduction across all of the houses involved.
David Straughan, Senior Project Manager at South Tyneside Homes commented:
“This is one of the largest CESP funded schemes in the country at the present time. Esh Property Services’ work will result in vast improvements to all of these homes. The increased efficiency of the equipment such as boilers and kitchen appliances together with the improved insulation will mean that residents’ energy bills will be reduced. In addition we are making substantial environmental savings.”
