The internal refurbishment programme for YHN includes a number of refurbishment schemes. A complete resident liaison service was provided on this Partnership, offering residents the ability to make their own choices.
The scope of works included:
• Partial rewire
• Replacing windows and external doors
• Replacing kitchen units
• Replacing bathrooms fittings
• Replacing internal doors
• Customer Satisfaction
Satisfaction is scored on a number of questions including:
• Respecting your property
• Minimum disruption
• Service received from Esh Property Services
• Works completed on time and to standard
• Cleanliness at the end of the day
We are scoring extremely high on satisfaction and our current level of satisfaction is 98%.
We are the top scoring partner at Your Homes Newcastle completing many properties ahead of schedule, in some instances as much as 4 days early. Defects are at a very low level with a benchmark cut off of 8.2%, Esh Property Services are exceeding this with 9.8% of properties being handed over defect free.
Community Involvement
Cowgate United has been formed as part of a joint initiative by Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle and Northumbria Police with support from Esh Property Services.
The team is made up of young men from the Cowgate area, they:
• Train every Monday and Wednesday
• Pick litter, help with graffiti removal and carry out other jobs to improve the Cowgate Estate area at least once a month
